      I think you could make a very good argument that there are already too many people now.

      Population doesn’t grown in a nice straight line – it goes up and up and up at an ever increasing rate. What it means is that if you are over 30, you are already older than 50% of the population of the world, even though most people now live to over 80! That’s a big proportion of young people, and it’ll be about the same when they get to 30!
