      They’re still alive today, as birds are technically dinosaurs! 🐦 (this is no joke, in recent years researchers have started calling the extinct dinosaurs “non-avian dinosaurs” to separate them from birds!)

      Other dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago – this actually makes T-Rex closer to us humans in time than to the first dinosaurs, which roamed the earth 220 million years ago! It was probably from the impact of a massive meteorite, which was so big it caused volcanic eruptions, dust to whirl up, etc that it drastically changed the planet’s climate, for example by blocking out the sun from the ground.
