While I ended up in Biology, I did really enjoy physics at school 🙂 (I even thought about studying bionics, which is sort of a link between biology and physics by looking at the physics behind interesting living things). I think my favourite things were to do with quantum physics, although we didn’t do that much of it: when you look at super tiny particles, things can get really freaky – all the classical physical rules you’d expect from looking at world around you break down. For example, electrons – tiny particles that are so small you would need about 10^27 (that’s 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) before they weigh one gram – can be both a literal particle and a wave (similar to a soundwave) at the same time.
