      Yeasts actually have a fairly similar cellular architecture to us (we’re both eukaryotes, meaning we have organelles and a nucleus inside our cells), so they do mainly use glucose to produce energy. They can also use and break down other sugars like fructose or sucrose. There are several different species of yeast as well so I imagine there is variation from species to species as well 🙂
