• Question: what are the chances of other seintient life (extra terrestrials)

      I’m really not an expert on aliens or the universe, but my guess would be that the chances sentient alien life exists are very high! The universe is just so unimaginably huge, it’s difficult to imagine that amongst all these billions and billions stars and planets there is only a single one that made sentient life possible.
      That being said, I don’t really think humanity will meet aliens at any time, because it’s physically impossible to travel (or transmit signals) faster than light speed – this makes the universe that can actually be reached by us a lot smaller. If we do encounter alien life, my guess would be that it won’t be sentient but quite primitive (perhaps microbial) life forms, seeing as we’ve not discovered a sign of intelligent life nearby yet.
