• Question: in the description of noble atoms it says when give a large quinty of it you life time is reduced by 50% but why deos this happen ?:)

      What it is actually talking about is this thing called “half life”. It’s not “our” half life, it’s the half life of a group of atoms.

      Basically, atoms can be unstable, and break apart into multiple bits (this is radioactive decay, and how nuclear power stations work). If I get a handful of nobelium, its half life is the length of time it will take for half of that nobelium to break apart into atoms that aren’t nobelium.
