I have started to make some really exciting progress a few months ago – I did some experiments that showed that, in certain conditions, my method of removing antibiotic resistance genes works! 🙂 I have presented this work at different scientific conferences, and am proud to say it recently even got picked up by a news outlet of the Microbiology Society.

While this is all a really exciting success for me, it is definitely still very “niche” – mainly of interest to other scientists. It is definitely still very early stages for my research, far from being of any use to the public just yet. My next steps are to expand on these experiments and publish this work for the scientific community.
Hopefully, these follow-up experiments will show that this method would be effective in a healthcare setting, and then I can start thinking about expanding to do bigger trials – but that is definitely several years down the line!
