• Question: Why does the sea look blue but running water clear?

      The sea is a huge body of water so appears blue (I think it’s due to the way water absorbs light). Running water from your tap might appear clear, but larger bodies of running water (like bigger rivers) look blue, too. So it’s all due to how much water you have in the same place!
