      Hard question. I’m almost certainly wrong, but I only know of one way it could happen.

      One of the problems we have is that we don’t know what makes up the universe or what shape it is. Not only does the shape change the age of the universe, but it changes how it will end. If the universe is shaped like a sphere, we call it a “closed” universe. In this case, we get to some point in time where the universe has gotten as big as it will ever be, stop expanding, and then start shrinking. A literal reverse big bang!
